DRESS CODE

 

**Save costumes, fancy leotards, leggings, shorts, etc. for Trash Week, which is the first FULL week of each month.

 

Starlette classes – ages 3-7 

 

Creative Combo – 3/4 year olds (Ballet/Tap)

 

What to Wear: 

Ballet:

- Any Style Black or pink leotard, No attached or separate skirts

- Pink footed tights (not footless)

- Capezio or Bloch Pink Ballet shoes, must be leather

*Cut drawstrings about 1⁄2 inch, make a bow, THEN tuck inside of ballet shoe*

- NO PANTIES, dance tights serve as your child’s “under garment”

- Dancers hair should be in a bun, even short hair will need to be secured out of face

 

Tap:

- Black Tap shoe – Any brand

*Replace tap tie ribbons with elastic Tap Ties/Velcro is fine.*

  

Child One Jazz/Hip Hop or Child Two Jazz/Tap  - 5/7 year olds 

What to Wear: 

Jazz:

 - Black leotard and Black footed tights (unless coming or going to ballet then please wear ballet attire)

- Black Bloch 401L slip-on split sole

- Hair secured out of face.

 

Tap:

- Black Tap shoe – Any brand 

*Replace tap tie ribbons with elastic Tap Ties/Velcro is fine.*

 

Hip Hop:  

 - Need tennis shoes that are easy to get on.

  

Child 1 Ballet/Tap or Child 2 Ballet - 5-7 year olds 

What to Wear:

Junior Classes – Ages 8-11

 

All Levels Ballet – 8-11 years old

Jr One Jazz – 8-11 years old

Jazz Classes encompasses lyrical, contemporary, music theatre and jazz curriculum.

 

What to Wear: 

 - Any Style Black leotard

- Black tights

- Black Bloch 401L slip-on split sole jazz shoes

- Hair secured out of face.

- NO baggy pants for any level

 

Question:  What if my child is taking Ballet and Jazz and Tap back to back? 

Answer:  They do not need to change clothes, only shoes

 

Jr Level 2 and up same as above except should have convertible or footless black tights as classes will begin barefoot

  

JR Tap All Levels - 8-11 year olds

What to Wear: 

- Any Style Black leotard

- Black tights/leggings

- BLACK CAPEZIO leather style shoe is preferred. 

*Must have Tele Tone Taps on bottom*

- Hair secured out of face.

 

Question:  What if my child is taking Ballet and Jazz and Tap back to back? 

Answer:  They do not need to change clothes, only shoes – but must be in correct attire for Ballet

  

Teen Classes

 

Teen Ballet - Ages 12+

Ballet curriculum is designed for each level. Barre, Center and Locomotor.

 

What to Wear: 

- Any Style Black leotard, No skirts

*Colored sports bras are not allowed in Ballet Classes, older dancers should wear dance bras that compliment their leotard for dance class if they are wearing one*

- Pink footed tights (not footless)

- Capezio or Bloch Pink Split Sole Ballet shoes. Must be leather.

*Elastic must be sewn across ankle*

- NO PANTIES, dance tights serve as your child’s “under garment”

- Dancers Hair should be in a bun, even short hair will need to be secured out of face

  

Teen Jazz - Ages 12+

Jazz Classes encompasses lyrical, contemporary, music theatre and jazz curriculum.  Upper level Jazz classes require Ballet.  

 

What to Wear: 

- Any style Black leotard 

*Teen 4 can wear any style/color*

- Black leggings or tights

- Black Bloch 401L slip-on split sole jazz shoes, preferably cover pink tights if coming from Ballet.

- Hair secured out of face. NO baggy pants for any level

  

Acro Classes - Ages 5+

What to Wear: 

- Comfortable, TIGHT fitting clothing that will not slip overhead for spotting purposes.

- No shoes, socks, or dance tights – barefoot only 

- Hair must be secured out of face

 

Hip Hop Classes – Ages 7+

What to Wear:

- Students may wear comfortable clothing that they’re confident to move in

- No jeans allowed

- Must wear tennis shoes

 

Acting Classes should dress comfortable with closed toe shoes.  If specific shoes are needed during semester for shows an email will be sent.
