Spotlight Acting Academy is "On the Move"
Now celebrating their fourth year of operation under the direction of nationally known actor, director, designer; Jonathan Beck Reed, Spotlight Acting Academy is growing, once again, in size and talent, with last year's expansion of level 1 and 2 classes to two times a week, along with the addition of the Theater Fundamentals, Theater Dance, and Musical Theater Production classes, the word is out that our small class sizes, and one on one training are what serious performing arts students from Edmond and Oklahoma City are looking for. We are not a "daycare" or a "cattle farm." We purposely limit our class size to allow for the most individual, and comprehensive training we are capable of giving, and, the success and growth of our students proves that the strategy works. Strongly believing that such focused committed students deserve to be supported by the very best, we've continued our tradition of showcasing our talented kids in spectacular Spotlight Productions, by employing the use of high quality costumes, sets, props and scenic backdrops. At Spotlight Acting Academy, we spare no expense to create a kind of production that will inspire the student body to rise to their highest level of capability. The most recent example was in this summer's Musical Theater Workshop Production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory which performed at Rose State Performing Arts Center on August 13th and 14th. Our participant response was so great, and gifted, that we found it not only easy, but necessary to double casts most of the roles. And, in truth, we could have easily triple casts, if we had had sufficient time to rehearse all three equally. (Maybe next year.) Anyway, for all of those enrolled in classes who participated in one or all of our productions, we thank you for helping to make Spotlight Acting Academy the success that it has become.
